Diagnostic Ultrasound & Ultrasound-Guided Injections
In-office shoulder ultrasound
Dr. Dilisio has specialized expertise in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound of the shoulder. Unlike MRI, ultrasound allows real-time, dynamic imaging of the shoulder tendons, bursa, and joint — performed right in the office during your visit. This enables immediate evaluation of rotator cuff tears, biceps tendon pathology, bursitis, and other soft-tissue conditions without the wait for an outside imaging appointment.
Ultrasound-guided injections
Shoulder injections performed under ultrasound guidance are significantly more accurate than landmark-based injections. Real-time visualization ensures the needle is precisely placed in the target structure — whether the subacromial bursa, glenohumeral joint, AC joint, or biceps tendon sheath — maximizing therapeutic benefit and minimizing risk.
